In 2009 BioPark Regensburg celebrated its 10 year jubilee. 33 companies have been accompanied in their foundation since 1999 and the number of employees in the region has increased more than six fold to 2,600. This makes the BioRegion Regensburg the second largest biotech-cluster in Bavaria following Munich. BioPark Regensburg is located directly on University grounds.

Currently 22 leaseholders with 500 employees reside on 12,000 sqm in BioPark. With the third construction phase underway, there will be a further 6,000 sqm of office and laboratory space available from 2011.
